Prayer Bar is built on a simple principle: your data stays with you. We collect zero personal data. Your prayer times are calculated locally, and your preferences sync only through Apple's own encrypted iCloud infrastructure.
Short answer: ZERO personal data.
We literally cannot collect your data because we don't have servers. However, your Mac stores the following data locally for app functionality:
Important: All this data remains on YOUR device. It never leaves your Mac except through Apple's encrypted iCloud sync (see Section 3).
Location data is used ONLY for calculating prayer times based on astronomical calculations and your geographic coordinates. All location data is processed locally on your Mac and never leaves your device or is transmitted to any server or third party.
Location data serves ONE purpose: calculating accurate prayer times for your area.
Your location, your choice. The app works perfectly fine when you manually search for a city.
Prayer Bar uses Apple's NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore to sync your preferences across your Apple devices. This is Apple's own encrypted key-value storage — we have zero access to the data in transit or at rest.

How it works: Apple encrypts the data, transmits it through iCloud, and delivers it to your other devices. We never see, access, or store any of this data. It's handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure under Apple's Privacy Policy.
To be absolutely clear, we do not collect any of the following:
Zero third-party data collection services. Prayer Bar connects to no external servers whatsoever.
We do not include:
The only external service involved is Apple's iCloud for preference sync and Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases — both handled entirely by Apple under their own privacy policies.
Prayer Bar offers optional premium features (adhan sounds, statistics, themes) through Apple's App Store in-app purchase system.
We have no access to your Apple ID, payment method, or purchase history beyond what StoreKit provides locally to the app.
