PrayerBar ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our macOS application.
Information We Collect
Location Data
PrayerBar requests access to your location to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. This data is:
- Used only on your device to calculate prayer times
- Never transmitted to our servers
- Never shared with third parties
- You can use manual location entry instead of GPS
Prayer Tracking Data
If you use the prayer tracking feature (Pro), your prayer completion history is:
- Stored locally on your device
- Optionally synced via iCloud if you enable this feature
- Never accessed or viewed by us
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud Sync (Pro feature), your settings and prayer history are synced through Apple's iCloud service. This data is:
- Encrypted by Apple
- Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
- Only accessible by you across your devices
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information
- Email addresses
- Usage analytics or tracking
- Advertising identifiers
- Any data transmitted to external servers
Third-Party Services
PrayerBar uses the following third-party services:
- Apple StoreKit - For processing in-app purchases. Transactions are handled entirely by Apple.
- Apple iCloud - For optional data sync (if enabled by you).
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data Storage
All app data is stored locally on your Mac using:
- UserDefaults for app settings
- Local files for prayer history
- iCloud Key-Value storage (optional, if enabled)
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Access - All your data is stored on your device and accessible to you
- Delete - Uninstalling the app removes all local data
- Disable Location - You can revoke location access in System Settings
- Disable iCloud - You can turn off iCloud sync at any time
Children's Privacy
PrayerBar does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is suitable for all ages and does not require any personal information to function.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
